Angler’s Delight Journey to Gulf Shores

HomeJourneys in Gulf ShoresAngler’s Delight Journey to Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores offers the angler many choices for their fishing excursions – offshore or inshore, saltwater, brackish, or freshwater. There are various different Gulf Shores fishing spots! Whether a novice or experienced angler, whether you want an inland or deep-sea experience, you can find it here.

DAY 1 – Shore & Beach- Gulf Shores Fishing Spots

You don’t have to rent a boat and head out to sea to fish at the coast. Grab your gear (and license) and walk out to the beach. Anglers can land flounder, red drum or even tuna (depending on the season) from the surf. Let Orange Beach Fishing Charters give you a hand if the fish aren’t biting. They can suggest the right tackle and which equipment to use and even help you rig, bait and cast your reel.

DAY 2 – Pier Fishing

Pier fishing is great for families and for casual anglers. Setup your beach chair and cooler, and then fish for pompano, redfish, ladyfish, and flounder. There are many piers along the beach or head to the Gulf State Park Pier with over 2,000 feet of pier just waiting for you. Don’t forget your crab trap!

DAY 3 – Kayak and Canoe Fishing

Get a little closer to the water – and the fish – on a kayak or canoe. You can rent Gulf Shores fishing kayaks and head out for flounder, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, pompano, bluefish, mackerel – whatever is in season. Fish the creeks, channels and marshes along the barrier islands and coast while you enjoy the beautiful scenery and maybe the company of a dolphin or two.

DAY 4 – Inshore & Back Bay Fishing

Charter a boat for an inshore fishing tour. With inshore fishing, you catch your bait before you start fishing. Try your hand at catching big fish on light tackle using live bait. Fish for redfish, trout, flounder, even shark. You can still catch a big fish, but this is fun fishing, not stressful.

DAY 5 – Deep Sea Fishing – Sport Fishing

This is the stressful, exciting fishing – going for that trophy fish in the deep water. Book a charter and head out for a Gulf Shores fishing adventure. Experience the thrill of reeling in amberjack, king mackerel, grouper, tuna, marlin, swordfish, and wahoo among others.

DAY 6 – Bow Fishing

For something completely different, try your skill at fishing with a bow. Bow fish in freshwater for carp, alligator gar, and drum, or try saltwater night bow fishing and gigging for a truly unique adventure. Imagine going for shark, at night, armed with a bow. This will be an experience of a lifetime.

DAY 7 – Saltwater Fly Fishing

Fly fishing can be quite exciting at the Gulf. Rent a kayak and chase tarpon or stalk tailing redfish through the marsh. Or, you can book a fly fishing charter and go backwater fishing for redfish, flounder, and sheepshead or head offshore for some really challenging fishing as you try to land that trophy fish on a fly rod.
