Enjoy a Coastal Holiday in Our Perdido Key Holiday Rentals

We do the holidays a little different down here. Very low key and laid back, but still delightful. Don’t worry about lugging those ornaments and wreaths down from the attic, just grab the stockings. You can buy a tree and a few strings of bright lights on your way onto the key. Set your tree up out on your deck or maybe on the pier so you can watch the lights reflecting off the water. Set the tree up inside, and since our rentals have wide open floor plans, so you’ll be able to see it twinkling from anywhere in our holiday rentals in Perdido Key. Maybe you need several trees!

Enjoy Holiday Events!

There’s usually a Holiday Craft Fair at the Pensacola Greyhound Park where you can buy a few shell ornaments to hang on the tree or from the mantle with those stockings or pick up a few last minute gifts. Hang around after the fair for the free drive-in holiday movie.

Head downtown for Pensacola’s First City Lights Festival and Winterfest, and enjoy more than half a million bright holiday lights strung throughout the city. Palm trees aren’t the only things decorated with lights, the entire city will be sparkling. Everything lights up on Black Friday after the annual Elf Parade (complete with Christmas Elvis!). Take the Polar Express Trolley to enjoy carolers, elves, Santa and more.

It wouldn’t be the holiday season without a Light Parade and here in the Gulf, we’ve put our own little twist on things. The Lighted Boat Parade starts at Sabine Marina, loops around the Bay and ends up at the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk. Santa will be at the boardwalk and so will the fireworks!

Enjoy Santa and More!

Take your entire family to the Flora-Bama and watch Santa sky dive onto the beach in front of this famous honky-tonk. Yes, Santa really does sky dive onto the powdery white sand! This legendary beachfront honky-tonk loves to do things their own way, and it’s always exciting. Kids of all ages can sit on his lap for pictures, and there will be activities, hot chocolate and free sweets for the kids. Meanwhile, adults can hit the oyster bar and grab one of the Flora-Bama’s famous bushwackers to help get the festivities started.

While you’re roaming around downtown Pensacola, make sure you stop at the Holiday Cube for a cute post-worthy pic. Settle your kids – or the entire family – in front of this giant holiday cube in Plaza Ferdinand and start snapping.

And of course, you’re at the beach, so there’s plenty of fresh seafood! Start a new holiday tradition and get all the fixin’s for a holiday low country boil at Perdido Bay Seafood. Most local dining establishments and resorts will be offering a Christmas buffet. Give our staff a call for the most up to date listings and for suggestions on traditional offerings or for something with a Gulf twist. Keep things low key and order take-out so you can dine al fresco on your rental’s beachfront porch while you watch the dolphins play in the waves.

Other Activities & Amenities

The weather is great during the winter when you’re in the Gulf! Temperatures are quite comfortably in the 60s during the day and a brisk 40s at night. It can be a little chilly for swimming unless you’re practicing for a Polar Bear plunge, but everyone can enjoy a dolphin cruise, or just walking along in the surf looking for the perfect shell souvenir. Fishing is great year-round here, and the redfish are biting in winter, as are pompano, spotted seatrout, striped bass, bonito, flounder, and sheepshead. Charter a fishing adventure, or rent a kayak and paddle through the backwaters on your own. Work off that last slice of pie and all that holiday candy by hiking (or biking) along one of the winding trails through Big Lagoon State Recreation Area.

Our Perdido Key holiday vacation homes have free Wi-Fi and flat screens throughout, so your family can still watch all their favorite holiday movies at the beach. And, you can whip up their favorite holiday snacks in your rental’s fully equipped kitchens. Wide open floor plans make gathering the entire family together a breeze, and each rental has a deck or porch perfect for lazy ocean viewing.

Let our staff help you find holiday activities for the entire family, suggest locations for a fun holiday meal, or help you find the perfect beach-front holiday rental on Perdido Key. Give us a call today to book our Perdido Key holiday rentals!
