The Jellyfish Bar, locally owned and operated, opened its doors in 2011 shortly after Hurricane Ivan swept through the area, and has become one of Perdido Key’s best restaurants. It’s a sushi and martini bar that also serves steak and that fried seafood that everyone wants when they come to the beach. It’s got a little of everything and it’s all good.
Casual & Comfortable
The Jellyfish has a typical beachy casual, slightly rustic décor. The cute ‘jellyfish’ pendants over the bar lend a bit of whimsy to the otherwise standard interiors. Diners can sit at the bar, in the dining area or on the balcony outside. The focus is on the food!
The Jellyfish Bar is Delicious & Diverse
To say the The Jellyfish Bar Florida has a diverse menu is a slight understatement. Where else can you find Fried Green Tomatoes and Krab Wontons on the same appetizer list? A few customer favorites are the Bourbon Salmon, chargrilled oysters, fried fish, and anything sushi!
An overview of the lunch and dinner menu will show a wide selection of Sushi, Nigiri, Maki and Sashimi, fried seafood, raw oysters, fish and chips, burgers and sandwiches, Poke Bowls. The side salads are definitely worth a look – Squid Salad, Seaweed Salad, or the Edamame – they’re a nice change from the usual wedge salad (as nice as it is).
Dinner entrees include a ribeye and filet, Smoked Meatloaf, Pecan Encrusted Grouper, Shrimp & Grits, Seafood Alfredo, a Grouper Reuben (a staple for Perdido Key restaurants). Not to mention tacos and a trio of seafood platters. Try the Creole Shrimp Stack – blackened shrimp, Creole risotto cakes and fried green tomatoes over spinach with an Andouille cream sauce. Yum!
There’s a short kid’s menu with fried chicken, fish or shrimp, a cheeseburger, a grilled cheese and Angel Hair with Marina. Oh, and Mac’n’Cheese too.
There is a nice selection of wines, cocktails and beer to accompany your meal. And there is an entire page of cool martinis and frozen drinks (yes, you can get a Bushwacker here) to try.
