Top 5 Local Only Shops in Orange Beach

HomeTop 5s in Orange BeachTop 5 Local Only Shops in Orange Beach

These days, most shoppers head online to get the best price they can find, and that’s a great way to shop a lot of the time, especially if you know what you want. But for those of us who still like to spend hours wandering down isles, browsing and touching everything, only the brick-and-mortar store will do. It’s a good thing to shop locally when you can, whether you’re a local or a visitor. Here are five suggestions for shopping in Orange Beach. We’ve tried to pick out a variety of shops for you to try—happy Orange Beach shopping!

SanRoc Cay Marina

SanRoc Cay Marina offers boutique shopping, restaurants, and bars. Grab a cup of locally roasted coffee or a signature cocktail from a nearby restaurant and sit in their shady courtyard while enjoying local, live music. Coastal living at its best.

Shop for new beachwear, home décor with a coastal flair, or a nice souvenir for someone back home. After shopping, treat yourself to a session at Serenity at the Beach Salon & Spa, head to the San Bar for another cocktail, Louisiana Lagniappe for Southern creole dining, or one of the other delicious dining spots. The ocean lovers and anglers in your group can book a Dolphin Cruise, Deep Sea Fishing Charter, Snorkeling or Diving Adventure while the rest of you shop and hit the spa.

Souvenir City of Orange Beach

OK, this one is pretty touristy, but sometimes that’s just what you need. This local, family-owned business has been a staple here in Orange Beach since 1994. There are two locations to choose from and each will have everything you need for your beach vacation. Plus, plenty of souvenirs!

Stop by if only for the homemade fudge and roasted nuts, or to get a fun henna tattoo. They have colorful coastal furniture, yard art, jewelry, toys and fridge magnets, t-shirts and flip-flops, hats and sunglasses, and more. And there’s the biggest selection of shells you’ve ever seen.

Rent a street bike for the trails in the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail or beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and a bodyboard for the beach. Just look for the bright, colorful pink roof!

Blalock Seafood and Specialty Market

Of course, at least one of our favorite spots for Orange Beach shopping would have to be a seafood market. Blalock Seafood and Specialty Market is the place to get fresh seafood and more. They’ll pack up your selection for your trip home and offer recipe suggestions too.

Stop by to load up on fresh tuna, grouper, snapper, mahi-mahi, shrimp, oysters, crab legs, and more. They offer prepared foods too like gumbo and crab cakes. Customer and local favorites include the shrimp bisque, smoked tuna dip, and Ginger Wasabi. Thinking about putting on a Low Country Boil? Get everything here, including the potatoes and corn on the cob. They have a nice selection of local and specialty spices, dry rubs, oils, marinades, crackers, wines and cheeses too.

The Wharf

The Wharf is a touristy spot, sure, but it’s also a place for locals because there’s so much here. Their two-story outdoor mall includes souvenir type shops, specialty food shops, a dog boutique, a Build-a-Bear Workshop, and the Kentucky Mist Distillery. Coastal Zen has all the crystals, incense, candles, wind chimes, and dream catchers you need, and the Gulf Coast House of Jerky has the usual jerky flavors, but they also have specialty jerkies like alligator, python, elk, kangaroo and more.

What really brings people to The Wharf is that there are so many things to do here. Besides shopping Orange Beach AL, you can book a dolphin cruise, play mini golf, try your skills in the escape room, or spend a few hours playing arcade games and laser tag. There’s an amphitheater with amazing outdoor concerts and a movie theater too. If that wasn’t enough, book a session at Civil Axe Throwing for a chance to get out all those negative thoughts and feelings as you hurl an axe (safely) at a plywood target, or zip through the air at the Hummingbird Zipline Course.

The Wharf also has a variety of restaurants and bars, from casual to upscale, with a variety of cuisines. Stick around for a night ride on the Ferris wheel for an amazing view of the area.
