Your Gulf Shore Vacation Home
Whether you’re planning on a romantic get-away for you and that special person, or will be bringing all the family and close friends you can, we’ve got a vacation home that will accommodate everyone in your group. From cute, cozy beachfront cottages to spacious vacation homes with eight bedrooms and spectacular ocean views, we’ve got you covered. And if eight bedrooms isn’t enough, just rent several of our vacation homes that are adjacent or very close to each other—easy!
Open floor plans offer lovely views of that bright, white sandy beach and the brilliant turquoise ocean from every part of your vacation home. Large covered porches and decks provide plenty of outdoor space to take advantage of, and will become the resting spot of choice for relaxing or catching up on the latest family gossip while watching for dolphins. Many of our larger winter rentals in Gulf Shores Alabama feature hot tubs out on their decks, which will be a welcome treat after a day of hiking, kayaking or searching for that perfect seashell.
Of course, each of our vacation homes boasts a fully equipped kitchen with the all-important coffee maker and blender (because you’re going to need coffee, margaritas and smoothies), as well as free Wi-Fi (for family movie night or a friendly family karaoke contest). And many homes have grills out on the deck, so you can enjoy one last low country boil of the season, or grill your catch of the day.
The Perfect Vacation Home Base
Since our vacation homes are scattered throughout the Gulf Shores area, you can select the perfect home base for all your winter vacation activities. And Gulf Shores is right between quieter Fort Morgan and lively Orange Beach, so you can enjoy a bit of both. Stay closer to Orange Beach and you’ll find plenty of bustling activities including all the fun at The Wharf and the famous Flora-Bama. Or, focus on nature, and stay closer to Fort Morgan, and the quieter side of things. Our vacation homes are beachfront or beach-adjacent and we even have a few on the bay for a slightly different vacation experience.
If hiking through coastal habitats is high on your list, stay closer to Gulf State Park, where you can enjoy miles of bright, white beaches, freshwater lakes, the fishing pier and more. Rent kayaks for fun and fishing on Lake Shelby, Middle Lake or Little Lake. Play volleyball, hit the golf course or tennis courts, or try geocaching. Kids will love the climbing wall and the Butterfly Pavilion! And of course, there are over 30 miles of paved trails and boardwalks in The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. Originally Native American hunting trails, you can jog, walk, skate, and bike your way along these fully-accessible, multi-use paths, past freshwater lakes, wetlands and marshes, and over sand ridges. Since the trail is part of the Alabama Coastal Bird Trail, it’s a great stop for birdwatchers too. Watch for osprey, bald eagles, white tail deer, coyote, turtles, alligator and the elusive bobcat.
Winter is the time to enjoy those popular tourist spots without the crowds! Spend the day at The Track Family Recreation Center riding go-karts on an elevated wooden track or bumper cars, mini golf and more! Or hit the links at one of the area’s golf courses. Try the Kiva Dunes course in Fort Morgan for a beautiful, challenging (and possibly windy) golf outing.
And the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo always has special holiday events planned, and amps up their regular animal encounters during the season. Many critically endangered, vulnerable or near-threatened species make their home at the zoo, including beautiful Bengal tigers and scaly pangolins. And there’s an entire island of loony lemurs just waiting to entertain the entire family.
Enjoy the Winter Holidays in Our Gulf Shores Winter Rentals
Gulf Shores goes all out for the holidays too. From nearby Bellingrath Garden and Home’s popular annual holiday tour, LuLu’s annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade, and the city’s annual Lighted Christmas Parade & Lighting of the Beach with lighted floats, marching bands, holiday treats, pictures with Santa, and a coastal style snowball drop (with 4,000+ ping pong balls), there are plenty of events to brighten up everyone’s holiday. Ask our friendly staff for winter rentals in Gulf Shores Alabama on the parade routes!
