Whew! The restrictions that have been defining our lives lately are finally being loosened. Restaurants now have the option of offering dine-in services. Obviously we spend a lot of our time outside and that includes eating outside. Most restaurants have some sort of outdoor dining space, especially the beachfront establishments. In fact, many establishments have larger outdoor dining areas than indoor spaces!
LuLu’s, The Hangout, and Tacky Jack’s – to highlight a few of the more popular Gulf Shores outdoor dining – all have outdoor dining areas. And there is always something going on at each of these casual, family-friendly dining spots. LuLu’s and the Hangout are right on the beach, and Tacky Jack’s fronts the Intracoastal Waterway for a different water view.
And of course, there’s the nearby Flora-Bama. Every trip to the Gulf Coast, even in times of social distancing, should include a trip to this world-famous beach-front honky tonk. Bushwackers, an oyster bar and live music! What more do you need?
The beachfront Gulf Island Grill is family friendly with a colorful, Caribbean flair and twist to their seafood offerings. And GT’s on the Bay has a pirate-themed playground for the kids, a large deck overlooking the bay, and fresh, local seafood dishes for everyone to enjoy.
Tucked in among the beach dunes, Sassy Bass Amazin’ Grill’s outdoor deck is a quirky beachfront hangout with a fun atmosphere and great ocean views. The Anchor Bar and Grill has a huge covered deck overhanging the water – great views and fresh seafood. Don’t let the outside keep you from enjoying this popular spot. At Dockside at Fisher’s at Orange Beach Marina, you can sit on the patio by the marina or on the covered deck as you enjoy award-winning fresh local seafood.
The popular Fin and Fork offers a casual upscale experience with fresh local seafood. And the twinkling lights on the outdoor patio at the Villaggio (at The Wharf) set the tone for this upscale Italian restaurant.
Dress up for sushi and other great seafood dishes at the Big Fish Restaurant. Or head to Cosmos the Restaurant for cool adult beverages, sushi and more as you dine on their outdoor patio. And dine outdoors on Cobalt’s large deck tucked under the Perdido Bay Bridge with amazing views of the bay as well as great local seafood.
