About Summer Wind
Summer Wind has beachfront accessibility and is just steps away from a community pool, shared by only 4 homes. The pool is seasonally heated for no charge in March, April, May, October, November, and December. Summer Wind is one of 4 Harris-owned and managed homes, allowing easy accommodations for extra large groups. When you’re in need of additional accommodations for your large party of family or friends, reserving one of these fantastic properties along with Summer Wind is an excellent choice, as it provides everyone with enough privacy and space in order to fully enjoy their vacation.

About Fort Morgan
Beyond this wonderful home and its features, Fort Morgan has much to offer. Take in the intriguing history and scenic hiking of the Fort Morgan Historic Site on a day trip. It was right on beach and a nice place. One gripe no king bed though listing says would be be available. Also only gave one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. This isn’t a massive issue but start to run out quickly when staying for a week and all stores are 25-30 minutes away. Otherwise property was nice and kids really loved the heated pool. Management was very responsive.

Our stay was fine! The house was clean and we enjoyed our stay. Our only negative feedback is in regards to the amount of storage in the house. There are closets but there are zero drawers to place any items. Literally had to live out of my suitcase for the week. Other that that complaint, it was a great stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Summer Wind in Fort Morgan! This location was just how one of the Harris Property agents described it to me “like a beach vacation away from the beach”. Our little slice of the beach was not crowded at all and we made so many wonderful memories! The house was beautiful, equipped with what we needed and only a few steps over the sand dune to the beach. And Harris Properties were the absolute greatest to work with!!! I will only use them to book in the future!

We had a great time at Summer Wind. Next time we will probably schedule our visit a little earlier in the year as the weather was a little cool at times. Everyone at Harris Vacation Rentals went above and beyond to answer our questions and communicate with us directly. We truly appreciated that. We did notice however that some of the standard cooking utensils were missing, i.e. measuring cups and spoons. I'm not sure if some of your previous renters took off with them or what. We also reported some items that were damaged when we arrived and the office offered to come and fix right away. However, my husband fastened the door knob on the door for you and we opted to wait for repairs until after we left. Again thank you for your kindness and communication.

My family stayed at the newly renovated home called Summer Wind for Mother's Day weekend. This was our 4th time to visit in May and to stay with Harris Vacation Rentals. The home was perfect for our family and the direct beachfront location can't be beat! The HVR staff was so helpful from the beginning until the end of our stay, plenty of communication made the check-in check-out process a breeze!! We had such a great time on our trip and really enjoyed our stay in Summer Wind! This was our first time staying closer to Fort Morgan and we absolutely loved how quiet it was! There was plenty of room for football and wiffle ball on the beach, and the house was well stocked with what we needed! We will definitely be coming back!

Great Family Getaway!

My family of 8 adults and three children recently spent a week at Summer Wind. It was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to be away from the crowd, and this house was the perfect location. It really did feel like we had the whole beach to ourselves. (We left our easy-ups on the beach the entire week, with no worries.) The house was roomy, both bedrooms upstairs had a private bath. Downstairs are two nice size bedrooms, a bunkroom for the kids and a full bathroom. So there was plenty of room for everyone. The beach was a very short walk through the sand, and the pool was just a few steps from our back door. The pool is shared with three other houses, but most of the time, we had the pool to ourselves. We spent alot of time on the concrete slab under the house playing games. There was always a great breeze, and it was also a wonderful place to catch a nap. I also loved that my entire family could fit around the large kitchen table. There is nothing I would change about our trip. Yes, Summer Wind is not a fancy condo, but it is a quiet, private, homey little place to enjoy family. We will definitely be back!

Family vacation

We had our first family vacation with kids and grandkids at Summer Wind. The house was perfect. 8 adults and 3 young children and 1 dog. The beach is at your fingertips and the swimming pool is right next door. Everything was provided except the food!! Shopping was only 16 miles away - which was close enough but far enough away to be out of the rat race of traffic. This is NOT a complaint: The dryer takes 2 and 3 cycles to dry clothes. May need looking at. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and of course would go again. Harris properties was excellent to work with. Thanks for a great family vacation.

Great and memorable time at Summer Wind

We had a WONDERFUL stay in Summer Wind for a family wedding. We had three of the four houses rented and I was responsible for cooking for 30 folks for the wedding. The houses are close enough to allow visiting but far enough apart that you never heard any sound from them. The kitchen in Summer Wind was VERY well stocked with cooking equipment, measuring cups, spoons, and just about everything I needed. The beds were very comfortable, air conditioning worked great, and it was so fabulous to be able to step out the door to the beach. We felt like we were on a private beach. My husband is not a beach person and he really enjoyed the large screen TV. We were lucky enough to see a nest of sea turtles hatching and running to the ocean, and the Blue Angels practiced a couple of days! We are hoping to return next year.

A Little Piece of Heaven

Our extended family (grandparents/siblings/children) chose Summer Wind as the location for our first family vacation. We ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! The location on the beach was perfect. My children and I have been to Gulf shores/Orange beach many times, but we definitely now prefer the exclusivity of Fort Morgan. Overall, the house was in good condition. My only disappointments were the lack of adequate pots and pans and the sleeper sofa has been removed and replaced with an air mattress. A house that sleeps 12 should have enough (and in good condition) pots/pans/storage containers/silverware/etc. Also, the website still shows there is a sleeper sofa. The air mattress was just not suitable for 7 days for my teenage boys. We would definitely stay here again with a smaller group. We saw dolphins every morning!! My happiest place was the large deck overlooking the pool and beach. Hope to be back soon!

There is nothing we would change about our stay. Summer Wind was perfect! Nothing fancy, but we weren't looking for fancy. Just something private, close to the beach and access to a pool. It was great! The house was very roomy, nice bedrooms and three bathrooms. It accomodated our family of 11 quite nicely. I loved that we could all fit around the kitchen table together. Great Family Vacation

Loved, loved, loved our family vacation at Summer Wind and would return in a heartbeat. Our large family had plenty of room without feeling crowded. The house and appliances showed wear as should be expected from use by numerous vacationers but everything worked as it should. If you want to walk out of your house directly onto the beach, see dolphins, turtles nesting, Sargassum fish, chose Summer Wind (or one of it's sister homes); if you want new, go to the crowded high rises down the coast.

Awesome. Vacation

We spent 5 nights at Summer Wind. Even though it was not super fancy, the location was superb! We had a few neighbors that we shared the beach with, but it was almost as if it was our beach exclusively. The house was clean, there was lots of room, our dog was welcome, and the views were fantastic. We walked right out the back door to the beach and played in the surf and sand to our heart's delight. We spotted a couple of Dolphins traveling toward Fort Morgan on our last day. The washer and dryer were rather old, but they worked okay. There was a soft spot in the downstairs bathroom that was a bit scary, but it survived our wet feet. The pool was clean and we enjoyed some family time splashing together. On the down side, it was about a 25 minute drive to restaurants and attractions. All in all, it was a wonderful place to spend time with our family!

Great Beach House

If you are looking for a beach cottage close to the water, this is it. Perfect for the whole family. Wonderful sand, close to the ocean with nice shallow areas for the younger members of your group and deeper areas for those more adventurous. Great pool right next to the house. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the shade watching the dolphins in the morning. Three generations and we all had a blast.

Loved the kitchen open to the family room and eating area and all open to lots of windows overlooking the gorgeous beach. Loved the outdoor deck with steps going down to the beach. We brought our 2 black labs who loved the water and surf.
It is also close to Gulf shores for the stores and restaurants. Ate at Nolan's in Gulf shores twice and loved it. We highly recommend this place. Dog friendly also. Kerry and Chris, Dallas, Texas

I loved the colorful decor and whimsical wall hangings! The location is great, lots of room and windows. The set up of the house is very convenient and nice....love the loft feel. The deck had some nails that needed to be nailed down but we loved it.

Such a great place! The house is clean and well kept - great space for multiple families and kids to have privacy, but remain together… right on the beach! Bonus - we practically had the beach to ourselves! We hope to visit again in the future!
