About Shep's Ahoy

Shep’s Ahoy is an adorable beach cottage located right across the street from the beach! Shep’s Ahoy has a huge front porch that is perfect for taking in the UNOBSTRUCTED Gulf Views! Shep’s Ahoy is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home decorated with excellent taste throughout!

Shep’s Ahoy can comfortably sleep 10 people, making this home perfect for your next family vacation! In the master, guests will find a king bed to sleep 2, Gulf Views, an LCD TV, and an ensuite bath. Bedroom #2 is equipped to sleep 2 in a king bed, has Gulf Views and an LCD TV. Bedroom #3 is equipped to sleep 4 on a queen bed and a bunk bed. Bedrooms #2 and #3 will share the hallway bath. 2 more can sleep on the sleeper sofa in the living room.

In the living room, guests will find plenty of space to spread out and relax. There are Gulf Views from the living room and an LCD TV. The kitchen is open and spacious and makes Shep’s Ahoy a great space to entertain! Prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen and then enjoy it with the family in the dining area that seats 6. There is additional bar seating for 4.

Shep’s Ahoy is less than a 2 minute walk from the beach where you can stick your toes in the water and soak up the sun! Rinse off when you are finished at the outdoor shower located directly under the home!


About Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!

We love people of all ages, and we want everyone to enjoy our homes.  However, we do require that an adult 25 years or older reserve the home and be present at the home during your entire stay. We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25.  We have no exception to this policy.

We visited Sheps Ahoy back in June of this year. My family of 4 along with friends of ours that also had 2 kids. We LOVED the location of the home with how close we were to the beach. The drive into town to all the restaurants was a little aggravating but we didn't mind it to much. This was our first visit to Gulf Shores so we didn't really know what to expect. The house had plenty of room. The only complaint we have is that the TVs in the bedrooms especially the bunk room are EXTREMELY small. The beds slept good. We had plenty of parking and covered storage space. We also wish we had checked out the local restaurants earlier than the night before we left. Thank you again to Harris Vacations for helping us book the perfect house for group! We will definitely be using you again.

The house was located perfectly right across the street from the beach. It had a unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. It was fun that the Sassy Bass was within walking distance and you didn’t have to get on major road to go to the market. The house was clean and set up nicely. The house has a great layout.

We had a great stay here. The property was just as advertised, spacious, and comfortable. Be aware that there are no spices or kitchen basics like you find at some rental properties, and you need to bring your own corkscrew if you plan to drink wine. These are not criticisms, just FYIs.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was roomy and nicely decorated. We loved the view! There were plenty of beach toys and a wagon in the shed as well. The only con was the master bed was terribly uncomfortable.

The house was just as described, and just steps away from the beach which made it easy to go back to house and get a snack or whatever we had forgotten.The Lawn Chairs on the front pouch could be nicer and also taller where when you sit out there you can actually see the beach and not the rails on the front pouch, and also for older adults that have trouble getting up and down these chairs are hard to get back up due to being on the short side.. The kitchen could also use some update on supplies, which wasn't a problem for us due to eating sandwiches at lunch and going out to eat in the evening. I would definitely stay here again and my Grandkids and Daughters loved the location and the short walk to the beach!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Shep's Ahoy last week. The proximity to the beach was amazing. We were happy to find all the water toys and grill available for our use. The house was very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the rocking chair in the living room as we had our 12 week old grandson with us who loves to be rocked. We will most definitely choose Harris Vacation Rentals again!

property was lovely and very clean. mattress in master was not the most comfortable ever, but servicable. management company provided a wonderful list of suggested items to bring. was disappointed that there were NO hangers in any closet and no hair dryer - those items were not on the list to bring and to be honest, I did expect those items to be included. But could not ask for a better location, walk out to the beach. secluded street and mostly quiet - except for the construction next door. That would have been nice to know about in advance but didn't terribly take away from our enjoyment of the property.

We really enjoyed Sheps Ahoy! The house was beautiful and very clean. Just a few steps to the beach which made it very easy for my husband who has a bad knee. The living room and kitchen are very open which was very nice for our large group to enjoy each other! Loved the location of this house! We will definitely stay here again!

More like hidden treasure!

This property was great for our weekend getaway. Super private location but still 15-20 minutes from town. Honestly this beachouse was actually better in person then shown in the pictures. View off the front porch was beautiful and a short walk to the beach which was practically empty. I was concerned about the driveway based on other reviews but it wasn't a problem at all. Communication between management was great. There was a charcoal grill left by someone on-site and make sure to bring bug spray.

We had a few days and found availability at Shep's Ahoy. The house had been updated since the pictures online with a new fridge, flooring, paint, and a few fixtures. The management was responsive and helpful. The house was clean when we arrived. It cooled down quickly. We had quick access to the Gulf. Had a great time. We'd rent this location again!

Great Time in Fort Morgan

We have stayed in several beach houses in the Fort Morgan area. The check-in and check-out process at this one was probably the easiest of any we've ever stayed in! The location is really good... right across a deadend street from the beach. There is no beach house in front of the home so you get a direct view of the beach! The house was very clean and everything went as good as we could have wanted.

Great location! Great house! The only negative was that the owner needs to maintain the driveway better. There were tons of sand on it and we had to use four-wheel drive to get in and out. BUT, that wasn't a problem for us. We will be staying there again!
