Welcome to SS Minnow! SS Minnow is a quaint 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath beach cottage that is perfect for your next beach getaway! Guests will be able to relax on the spacious front porch while listening to the soothing sounds of the waves. The beach access is just steps from the front door. Bring Fido along, this home is pet friendly for up to 2 dogs with an additional fee(s). Plan your getaway today!

About SS Minnow

Guests will find comfort and relaxation at SS Minnow and it is only a short walk to the beach. This home is perfect for couples or a small family. SS Minnow has an open kitchen, dining, and living area making this home perfect for entertaining. The living area is furnished with a comfortable living room set making this the perfect place to relax and watch a movie after a long day on the beach.

Guests will find two bedrooms and one bathroom in the unit to host four people. Bedroom #1 is equipped with a queen bed to sleep 2 and an LCD TV. Bedroom #2 is equipped with a full bed to sleep 2 and an LCD TV. Guests will share the hallway bath. SS Minnow is pet friendly and guests can bring up to two dogs for an additional fee.

Under the home is a a picnic table to enjoy meals in the shade. This is where you will find the laundry room that includes a nice laundry sink. A bonus in this room is the private shower for washing off all the sand and salt water from your daily beach adventures!

Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!

Rental Age Policy

We love people of all ages, and we want everyone to enjoy our homes.  However, we do require that an adult 25 years or older reserve the home and be present at the home during your entire stay. We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25.  We have no exception to this policy.

Clean house just as described. Nice quiet street , very short walk to the beach. Nice porch and area under house with a deck to grill and eat. Updated bathroom was nice. We had a very nice relaxing spring break. I would definitely book this house again.

This little house was perfect for the 3 of us. It is so close to the beach you can sit on the deck and hear the ocean waves. So peaceful. The laundry room downstairs was very good for storing the chairs and beach umbrellas and I would recommend bringing a wagon to take everything to the beach. You will need to bring chairs and umbrellas as they are not provided. The kitchen was well equipped with most everything and a nice microwave. About the only thing we cooked was popcorn in the microwave. There is a restaurant right behind the house that has a breakfast buffet which was just ok. About 4 miles toward Gulf Shores is Sassy Bass Cookout Tiki Bar and Grill and that was the best place we ate all week. It was just a hole in the wall place but fantastic food. There are some small appliances in the kitchen, a blender, a can opener, a toaster, a regular coffee maker and a Keurig coffee maker. The only negative about the house was the beds were not very comfortable and were too soft. They need some firming up. Overall I still give this place 5 stars and when we decide to come back, this is where I would stay.

The SS Minnow was perfect for me and my dog. The location is perfect. I could see and hear the ocean from the balcony. The walk to the beach is short. The restaurant and store close by was ideal. Staff communicated promptly by text. I stayed 2 weeks and can’t wait to come back.

"We had a very good stay at SS Minnow. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom both functioned well. The washer/dryer were also in good working order. The video setup in the home was also very easy to use (since I brought our lineup from previous visits). It would have been nice to have a listing at the home, but, this wasn't our first rodeo to Fort Morgan.We enjoyed the wood floors which were easy to keep clean. The distance to the beach was very acceptable. Let's not overlook the multiple shows each day from the Blue Angels. They are one of the reasons we visit during December. Also, the pots/pans/cutlery were complete and sharp. Thanks for a great stay."

We just returned home from a week long stay at Fort Morgan, AL. This was our third time to use Harris Vacation Rentals for our trip. We love them and will be booking again with them. The best part with Harris is that our dog was able to go with us! We love that they offer pet friendly rentals!

This little cottage is one row off the beach, but still has a good view. Air blew cold the entire week. Beds were comfy. Location was peaceful with easy access to the beach (about a block's walk). Kitchen had basic essentials with a working electric oven, dishwasher, cold fridge. Shower has good water pressure. Washer/dryer worked nicely with a convenient downstairs bathroom with utility sink. Outdoor water hose as well. Easy access to the Sassy Bass store and restaurant (just across the back yard). We would definitely stay here again. I might suggest an in-sink disposal and an upstairs deck awning/roof, but those would be our only thoughts.

Beach Serenity

An adorable little house with the perfect porch for morning coffee, walks down the beach and getting away from it all. The house is clean with plenty of cooking supplies to cook at home, a small grocery 5 min walk for forgotten ingredients. Washer and dryer are a huge bonus with a downstairs shower for super sandy days. We will be back it met all of our needs to get away and relax!

Nice little place

This is a nice, little house with close beach access. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. The management company was also very easy to work with and responsive. There is not a lot of lighting in the kitchen area- a brighter light would really help. Also, if you plan on cooking- bring a few of your own pots/pans as the selection at the house is very limited. We would stay here again. Thank You!

Our stay was great. However, it was a bit frustrating making the reservation since Harris Properties aren't actually the owners of the property and require you to go through their own booking/ reservation process- Not a big deal I just would have preferred this be explained to me before I booked. Other than that the house was lovely and the location was fantastic (right across the street from the beach!). The neighborhood is nice and quiet and not particularly "touristy" which was perfect for us!

he home is just as listed and very clean. There is a queen bed in one bedroom and full size in the other. The kitchen has everything that you'll need to cook meals. The bathroom is small with only a shower but is adequate. There was just as stated with only enough supplies to get you started so the warning on that is nice. There are enough towels for one shower for 2 but the washer and dryer work great. We stayed here for the close proximity to the beach which was very nice. Being there in October we pretty much had the beach to our selves.
