About Stuck in the Sand

This laid-back beachfront home offers the retro feel Fort Morgan vacations are known for. Imagine fishing, sunbathing, and making incredible vacation memories right out the back door! Stuck in the sand offers a unique bonus of a screened porch, perfect for rocking in the rocking chairs on a clear evening! The deck also offers an uncovered area for sunbathing and a gate to help keep little ones safely inside. 

Inside, guests can enjoy the same unobstructed gulf views from the open living and dining areas. Plenty of comfortable seating makes this are the perfect spot to relax after a day at the beach. The kitchen is equipped for preparing the catch of the day with cookware, dishes, and small appliances provided. 

Up to 8 guests are comfortably accommodated at Stuck in the Sand. The Gulf facing master bedroom features a queen sized bed, TV, and access to the deck via the sliding glass doors. The master bedroom also features an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Bedroom 2 also features gulf views, a queen bed, a TV, and access to the deck. Bedroom 3 sleeps 4 guests in 2 queen-sized beds and has its own TV and an en-suite bathroom.

Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!
 
Rental Age Policy
We love people of all ages, and we want everyone to enjoy our homes.  However, we do require that an adult 25 years or older reserve the home and be present at the home during your entire stay. We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25.  We have no exception to this policy. If you are found to not be in compliance with this policy, you will be immediately evicted from the premises without a refund of any amount.

Just wanted to say that we had a really great stay at “Stuck in the sand”. It was SO clean and well stocked. Such a peaceful area and Harris made the reservation process very simple. It was great to be able to use a local business for our rental. We would plan to use Harris again in the future.

The house and area were great! Actually I am an allergy sufferer and the house was really clean. I saw two roaches which we killed. The screened in porch was great but the rocking chairs were very uncomfortable.and we were unable to sit out there for any length of time which we wanted to do. A couple of outdoor loveseats would have been more comfortable. Other than that it was fab. Thanks.

My family and many girl trips have each year stayed around Ft. Morgan for over 30 years. We rented from Becky and Steve Harris before Harris Properties was a thing. This was the best house yet. Clean, decorated, stocked, and right on the water. We didn\'t use some things like washer/dryer and only used one tv but all we did need worked. We could not park right at the steps to unload due to sand but we managed. HP also contacted us several times to see if everything was okay. It was. I\'d love to come back!!

The photos are exactly what it looks like! The listing for "Stuck in the Sand" described it very well, and the process for renting it went smoothly. We were a group of four friends, two had never seen the ocean, one had been to Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan many times, and one had been to multiple other beaches. We all said the same thing, the house was clean and cozy yet spaced out enough that we were not on top of each other. With the doors and windows open, there was a fantastic cross breeze. The furniture was comfortable and clean. The bedrooms were spacious. The deck was nice, although the steps seemed a little steep for us, 3 women in their 50's and one in her 40's. It didn't stop us from going down to the beach multiple times a day. The beach is definitely close with this house, once you are off the deck, the water is about 30 seconds away. Cons and things we would have changed: there were 4 rocking chairs on the screened in porch, which was very nice, but there were only two adirondack chairs on the deck. It would have been nice if 2 more had been available. Not a huge issue, but something we noticed. There was an issue with the dryer not working and we packed wet clothes for the trip home. We contacted the number they provided and maintenence was at the house within an hour. He did get the dryer going, it was simply a breaker issue, but we turned it off since were leaving for dinner, when we returned, it wouldn't start again. I fully believe that maintenence would have came back to the house, had we called but it was our last night there and we decided not to mess with calling them again. Our only other "complaint" is the provided one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. We found more humor in the situation than an actual complaint, but that's quite possibly the worst toilet paper any of us had ever seen. Luckily we had each brought our own roll from home, so we just laughed about it and went on with our stay. All 4 of us were incredibly happy with the house, it's location, and the communication with management.

The property was as pictured and as described. Appreciated the communication checking in on us as a decent storm rolled through. The covered porch provided an awesome opportunity to watch that ocean storm. We all had a great time and would definitely stay again. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of town but yet within a short drive to go into town if we wanted to. Would highly recommend staying here!

The only issue we had was unlocking the front door with the entry code sent to us, but when I called the office, they answered quickly and gave a second door code to use which worked fine! The house is roomy and very close to the beach! just a warning for others, though, there is no grill on site. We had to bring our own to use outdoor grilling.

We had a great SB! The house was beautifully kept and decorated. We enjoyed the beach straight out our door with zero walking. Open your door and you're on the beach!! Enjoyed even a rain storm out on the screened porch! We'll definitely return and from pictures we posted others are wanting more info because of this close and private home. We will definitely come back to this great location. This house was perfect for family especially with little ones. The beach access was great. You step right out on the beach. The screen porch was such a plus as well as the large open deck where we enjoyed playing corn hole. You are away from all the crows yet 20 minutes to Gulfshores. The house was clean and roomy. For sure deserves 5 stars!

Overall a great house for a beach getaway weekend. It is right on the beach with prime views and easy to get up and down throughout the day with kids. No hauling coolers, etc. The house is very clean and has most of the basics. It would be nice to have a few more supplies provided like extra trash bags and coffee filters but based on other reviews we anticipated that and brought extras. Would definitely stay there again!

This property was very comfortable, easy to access and was right on the beach. I enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle of the main drag. We came to relax and that we did. Everything was as I expected it to be. The only recommendation would be to have a newer tv in the living room as it was slightly on the small side and the colors seemed to be a little washed out. I would have also liked to be able to log into Netflix and Prime.

Stuck in the Sand is a beautiful property with plenty of room for the whole family. It's been recently renovated and looks top notch. The only thing better than the house is the view off the deck to the ocean where you can watch dolphins playing almost daily.

This was the vacation that almost didn't happen due to COVID, but we decided to reschedule instead of cancelling, and it was worth the wait! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The secluded area and proximity to the beach was simply amazing. Would love to see some updates (ESPECIALLY the kitchen stove), but no real complaints! Looking forward to staying again.

Couldn't be any closer to the water! Screened in porch with rockers was wonderful. Loved the ocean views out two of the bedrooms. Long beach walks every sunrise and sunset, unlimited sandbox for the kids. A little drive to town, but close to good restaurant and convenience stores. Had a Christmas tree delivered to management and they saw that it was out at the house when we arrived! Would be nice if management would allow a small amount of condiments, paper and cleaning supplies to accumulate from one guest to the next...it's a wasteful annoyance and unnecessary expense to buy basic things like salt & pepper, dish soap, pot scrubbers, etc. and then dispose of it when leaving.

Gulf shores is almost the half way point between myself and my father. We got together for the weekend to catch and enjoy the area. Stuck in the sand enabled us to have fun inside and out! Just Splendid!

The property is amazing! Literally right on the water! The covered porch is awesome! We had one issue with the TV and Dish was out there the next day to get it fixed. Harris property went above and beyond to make sure it was taken care of. The only issue is it's a little ways back into the main part of town, but there are little markets close in case you forget any essentials. We will definitely be back!

We were amazed how close to the water it was,and watching the beach change every day was an exciting time. We saw dolphins and herons and other birds. Words cannot express how amazing this place is. Beautifully decorated beach style. Spotless. Gulf views from almost every room. The screened in porch was wonderful. And the other porch is right off the master bdrm. I would open the door and pull the curtains back when I woke in the morning and just lay there & take in the beauty and sounds of the waves crashing. And Mgmt was so accomadating. I was looking forward sitting on the deck in rocking chairs, but from the look on the site there weren't any. Well Lo & behold ,we got there and they had gone out and got us 4 rockers. I could go on forever about this place, but I'm tired of typing !

Great Place!

I just got back from staying at Stuck in the Sand. This place is great. It's the closest I've ever been to the ocean and you can hear the surf from the screened in porch. The porch is just an amazing amenity. We spent so much time out there working (boo!) but it was nice to enjoy the surf even though we had to work. The inside is great as well. The kitchen is well stocked with just about anything you need. Plenty of pots and pans and a blender, which we used quite a bit! I can't wait to come back next year! We had a little trouble with the wifi when we arrived but Lenetta was very responsive and we were able to resolve it quickly. I can't say enough about the customer service I received. We needed the wifi to work in order for us to work so it nice to have someone there that responded quickly to our needs. I highly recommend this place!
