The gulf and bay-facing decks provide guests the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy a sunset and the sound of the waves. The unbeatable views are just the beginning! Under the house, guests will find plenty of space for parking and an enclosed outdoor shower which allows for a quick rinse off after enjoying a day at the beach! After a day of fun in the sun, there is nothing better than coming back to this gorgeously designed, spacious retreat! The comfortable living area offers plenty of seating, a large TV, beautiful beach views from the windows, and a full view of french doors. The living area flows into the dining area which features seating for 6 at the table and another 3 at the kitchen island. Sun Dog's showstopping kitchen offers views of both the bay and the gulf and easy access to the back deck. Designer touches are everywhere and give guests the feeling of luxury and convenience. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a cocktail area with a wine fridge. 

Sun Dog's Cottage features 3 bedrooms to comfortably sleep 6 guests. The master bedroom features clear gulf views, a large TV, and a private bathroom. Like the rest of the house, the designer touches in the master bathroom give guests the feeling of home. The master bathroom features a granite double vanity, huge walk-in shower, and oversized custom closet. On the other side of the home, bedrooms 2 and 3 share a hall bathroom with a granite vanity and a tub/shower combo. Bedroom 2 features a king-sized bed, gulf views, and a wall-mounted TV. Bedroom 3 features 2 twin beds, handy reading lamps, and a wall-mounted TV.

About Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!

Harris is by far the most profession vacation rental company we have ever used. We rent houses twice a year all over AL and FL. We always use rental companies. Harris is top notch. Communication and response time is almost instantaneous. We rented Sun Dogs and the house was also in tip top shape! We will use Harris EVERY time we rent in the area!

We just had the most amazing experience with a Harris Vacations Property in Ft. Morgan, AL. The property we stayed in was called Sun Dogs Cottage. It was beautiful and the proximity to the beach couldn't have been better for us. The cleanliness of the property far exceeded our expectations. We've stayed with other rental companies in years past and I can say after this experience we'll definitely be returning renters with Harris Vacations. The view of the beach on the large porch was perfect for sunrise breakfast and coffee. Being a dog lover and our only child being a great dane we appreciated this pet friendly property. He felt right at home. We just brought up his dog bed that he rode down here on and he was right at home.

We stayed in Fort Morgan last year and loved it so much we decided to stay again in ‘22. We wanted a home that had the finishes and amenities that felt more like home to us and Sun Dogs Cottage didn't disappoint. The home was clean and unlike a lot of vrbos we've stayed at, the photos were an accurate description of the property's current state. The best part about the property is the views. You have bay views to the north and gulf views from every southern facing window. We made it a nightly ritual to hang out on the porch and just talk as a family. We really enjoyed our stay and this property will be at the top of our list next trip to AL!

My favorite beach trip to date! This house is gorgeous with a thoughtful and practical design and was very clean upon arrival. We had everything needed to make yummy dinners at night and to enjoy coffee/wine on the porches. Those porches!! What a view from both! Already looking at dates for next year to return we loved it that much! My little pup also enjoyed the porch 🙂

This is a very nice beach house and close to the beach. Only 250 steps away from a very quiet beach. We had never visited this area. It's about an hour drive away from Pensacola airport. Recommend stopping at Walmart on the way if you need supplies. Well managed and clean. The only improvement could be including enough toilet paper, trash bags, and dishwasher soap for the week. Don't forget to bring these items with you if you stay longer than a few days. We would highly recommend this very beautiful house.

Sun Dogs Cottage is an outstanding place to stay. Very short walk to the Gulf beach, and nice view of Mobile Bay as well. The house itself is super too, like new condition with great layout, high ceilings, and unexpected deluxe features like master closet and laundry room. The Gulf-facing South porch is awesome - eat, drink, or just enjoy the view. Property managers Harris Vacation Rentals have been very easy to work with. And another thought, just a suggestion; I think it would be nice to have the area around the house's concrete built up a bit, as in some spots particularly on the back and sides it's a bit of a drop off to the sand - where we walk around a bit in the yard, and/or let our dogs go out. This was particularly a concern for my older dog this year. Thanks for the great job you folks do!

We had a wonderful time staying at Sun Dogs Cottage. We loved the back deck that provides a great view of the Gulf! I don't think I can say anything negative about the place. We were pleasantly surprised at the bonus area underneath the house. It was a nice area with beach chairs, beach cart, and other items. It was also nice to have room to put my fishing cart in for the night so I wasn't worried about everything being outside.

Absolutely gorgeous place! Very clean! Very spacious! Kitchen was loaded with literally ALL the things! It was better than being home away from home! The back porch was phenomenal! The walk to the beach was quick and easy! Would definitely stay here again and 10/10 recommend! The ONLY negative thing had nothing to do with the place itself, but the mosquitos were absolutely AWFUL outside around the house. They were HUGE and came in swarms! We didn't get to enjoy the back porch like we wanted because we have small children and we were all be eaten alive.

My family and I stayed at Sun Dogs Cottage from May 27 through June 6, 2021. This was our second year renting this home and as impressed as we were last year, our experience was just as good or better this year. Everything said about this home in previous reviews is 100% accurate. While the home has now been on the rental market for over a year now, the house, furnishings and appliances still are in pristine condition. I also want to say that we continue to be impressed with Harris Properties. For two years now the rental process has been seamless and the house immaculately clean and ready for our arrival. I will also add that the baked treats were much appreciated and enjoyed. This is a pet friendly house and I can say that our English Bulldog lived on the pack porch enjoying the constant breeze. Our only issue is that next year is our 30 anniversary and we may not be able to fit in our annual trip to Fort Morgan, but at some point we will be back and our first choice will be Sun Dogs Cottage!

My family and I stayed at Sun Dogs Cottage from May 13-20. Everything said about this home in previous reviews is 100% accurate. The house is nearly brand new and the furnishings and appliances reflect that. The layout of this home makes it perfect for a family getaway. I cannot say enough about the deck overlooking the Gulf. The breezes kept it very comfortable even in the hottest part of the day and we spent every evening there throughout the week. I also would mention that the management company did an excellent job in preparing the home for our arrival, it was so clean that it was impossible to imagine that this was a rental property. Harris also did a wonderful job communicating with me as we got closer to the dates of our stay. This was the break from all of the COVID craziness that my family needed. We will return next year!!

Sun Dogs Cottage is an absolutely beautiful home! Plenty of open space, large comfortable deck with great view, and all the amenities you will need. The decor is beachy, fun, and classy. Very short walk to the beach. Everything is new and clean. We loved everything about this house! It was a perfect week with family. The weather was great, the beach was clean and the ocean water clear. We brought our dogs and the deck has a gate, so no worries there. We look forward to next year!
