Serving fresh seafood with a Caribbean flair since 2003, the Gulf Island Grill is the perfect casual beach seafood restaurant. A family-friendly establishment, this locally-owned and operated establishment invites you to come as you are and bring the family for some fresh seafood.
The kids will love the deep-sea mural on the walls and the colors. The interiors are “beachy” and island-themed and very colorful. The wall of T-shirts behind the cashier adds even more color to the space.
Stay inside where it’s cool or sit outside on the patio or covered porch to enjoy the beach view. You can also get your order to go and eat on the beach or on your rental’s private deck. There is going to be something on the menu for everyone: pasta, seafood and fish, meat and chicken dishes, or sandwiches.
Crab claws, coconut shrimp, fried pickles, raw oysters, buffalo shrimp, crab stuffed baked mushrooms, and fried clam strips are just a few of the appetizer options. If you’ve got a large group, try the Family Pleaser – mango BBQ shrimp, fried dill pickles and chicken tenders.
Try a refreshing fresh mango shrimp salad, seafood gumbo or crab bisque. And, there are plenty of sandwiches, po’boys, and burgers to choose from.
Surf & Turf, Marquez Ribeye (ribeye topped with spicy shrimp and crab sauce), and Caribbean Kabobs are among the entrée choices. Fresh catch selections include the Gulf Island Gulf Shores Catch (lightly pan fried fish topped with shrimp & andouille sausage).
House Specialties include Grouper Roulade, Baby Back Ribs, Scampi, Grouper Parmesan, Tropical Shrimp and Mahi Tacos. Platters include choices for shrimp lovers, Caribbean flavor lovers, crab claw lovers, and fried seafood lovers – something for every taste and appetite. There is a separate kids’ menu too.
Feeling like you should eat healthier, but are still hungry? Try the Steamed Shrimp Dinner or the St. Martin Platter (a little of everything!). And since you ate a healthy entrée, you can splurge on dessert by enjoying Peanut Butter Pie, Chocolate Turtle Pie or Key Lime Pie!
