Congratulations to Fisher’s at Orange Beach Marina! This casual, coastal restaurant made Southern Living’s list of the South’s Best Restaurants for 2019. Fisher’s is actually two separate restaurants – “Upstairs” and “Dockside,” and they both are recommended by Southern Living. Housed in the same building, one atop the other, each has its own ambience and flair.
Upstairs is Southern, upscale casual with its antique cypress tables, bright white linens and long white draperies. Dark, reclaimed heart pine floors and the high coffered wood plank ceiling shine with the glow from the crystal chandeliers. The long bars and casual seating area provide plenty of room while you’re waiting for your table. And, you have a choice of dining inside or out on the covered porch, perched high above the palm trees and nearby boats.
This is Southern seafood with a Creole twist. Try one of the oysters or shrimp choices, or the Pork Cheeks to get things started. Entrees include the Fresh Gulf Fish of the Day, Swordfish, Steak Frites, Stuffed Quail, and Yellowfin Tuna. Their wine list is extensive, and the Post-Dinner Cocktails are amazing; try the Chocolate Cherry or The Bourbon Ball.
Dine with favorite cocktail in hand on the patio beside the marina or on the covered deck under incredible driftwood light fixtures. Overhead garage doors open the bar and indoor seating area to the balmy breeze. Comfortable and relaxed, Dockside is your favorite seafood shack with a modern twist. It’s perfect for kids and families and sailors right off the boat.
Start your meal with appetizers of oysters, crab, shrimp, boiled peanuts – or maybe some Boudin Balls. Entrees include Shrimp & Grits, Fish & Grits, Shrimp Creole, Fish of the Day and Fried Chicken. And, there are salads, burgers, sandwiches, tacos and Po’boys. Leave room for the Bread Pudding! The Brunch menu includes Boudin Benedict, Smoked Brisket Hash, and French Toast, as well as their regular menu items.
Fisher’s at Orange Beach Marina is, of course, located at the Orange Beach Marina, at 27075 Marina Road in Orange Beach. Both Upstairs and Dockside are popular places, so make reservations for Upstairs (251-981-7305) and call ahead 30 minutes prior to arriving and get on the seating list for Dockside (251-981-7308). Both are worth the wait!
Upstairs is open 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Dockside opens daily at 11:00 am to 9:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Sunday Brunch is served from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
