When you’re on vacation, there are times when you want to find the spot where the locals go. You want to eat at that place with good food and a casual, friendly atmosphere. Fisherman’s Corner Seafood Restaurant is one of those places. It’s a Perdido Key favorite of both tourists and locals.
The Atmosphere at Fisherman’s Corner
Described as an “old fish camp with white table linens,” Fisherman’s Corner is tucked under a bridge, right where a fish camp should be. It’s a little hard to find, and the exterior is certainly nothing to write home about, but it’s the food and drink inside that count. Rustic wood paneling and the exposed ceiling joists are an interesting counterpoint to the white table cloths, sparkling glassware and extensive wine list. There are Daily Chef specials and live piano music on weekends.
The interiors are an interesting mix of styles, and the menu follows suite. A mixture of fresh local ingredients, Cajun and Creole dishes, vegetarian dishes and of course, lots of fried seafood. Customer favorite at Fisherman’s Corner include the fish tacos, and the crab cakes.
The wide variety of appetizers includes the usual southern offerings of Fried Dill Pickles and Fried Green Tomatoes, along with Fried BBQ Shrimp, Crispy Crab Cake, Fried Frog Legs, Grouper Bites, Fried Calamari, Seared Tuna, Portabella Mushroom Fries, and Eggplant Parmesan.
Lunch & Dinner entrée options include a Fisherman’s Cuban, a hot roast beef sandwich, burgers, and a Portabella Mushroom Sandwich. For the seafood lover, there are several Po Boys and fish taco options, a Grouper or Tuna Reuben, several fish dinner and seafood platters, Shrimp & Grits, and Crawfish Etouffee. For land lovers, there are several pasta choices, a filet and a ribeye.
There are a few dessert options, but you may want to try the customer favorite New Orleans Bread Pudding. The separate kids’ menu is very kid friendly with fried fish, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, a grilled cheese, and burger choices.
Brunch options are also varied, with options including a Southern Brunch Bowl, Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Pecan Waffles, Seafood Omelet, and bone-in Pork Chops. And it wouldn’t be brunch without French Toast on the menu.
