Locally known as “the pearl of Bon Secour,” the Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar is family-owned and operated. Serving steaks and fresh seafood since 2004, Tin Top is located in Bon Secour, a secluded area on the inside coast of the Fort Morgan peninsula on the Bon Secour River. Originally a French fishing village, this little coastal town is known for its now thriving Alabama “Wild Caught Shrimp” businesses.
Tin Top is off the beaten path and definitely out of the main tourist areas, but it’s only 20 minutes from Gulf Shores. Sit outside under the live oaks and listen to the frogs, crickets and cicadas, and relax while you sip that first cocktail of the evening.
Dine outside on the patio, on the covered porch, or just sit at the oyster bar; it’s all good. Of course, you can always sit inside and stay cool. With its family-friendly, casual atmosphere, and great fresh local seafood, the Tin Top restaurant in Gulf Shores will become a favorite dining destination.
It’s all about steak and fresh seafood. Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar is perfect for diners who are a little tired of seafood and for those who are still loving it. Start out with Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, Sashimi (ahi tuna), Coco Loco Shrimp (flambéed in coconut rum with mango vinaigrette) or Fried Green Tomatoes to name a few. There are soups, salads, burgers, po’boys, and pastas too. Entrees include Pan Seared Tuna, Crab Cakes, Fresh Catch (served several ways), Shrimp & Grits, the Tin Top Platter (broiled or fired crab cake, fish fillet, oysters and shrimp), and steak! Try the tenderloin, rib eye, petite fillet or 16 oz. strip cooked just the way you like it! Don’t forget to leave room for dessert. Your options include three kinds of bread pudding: Traditional, White Chocolate, and Strawberry Bread Pudding!
The wine list is extensive and includes a variety of options, any of which will be a nice addition to your meal. And come back for their Sunday Champagne Brunch, served from 10am till 3pm. You’ll get a complimentary glass of champagne, mimosa or poinsettia with your meal.
