A picnic at the beach is fun, and so is Picnic Beach! With its bright white décor, this casual restaurant offers a few healthier alternatives to the usual fried seafood and BBQ beach menu. While you can still get good fried seafood and BBQ here, but there are many other options you’re going to want to try first!
Obviously, the theme at Picnic Beach is PICNIC! The entire building (inside and out) is bright white, with natural wood ceilings and accents and clean contemporary detailing. White picnic benches and fun, bright green astro turf are everywhere – inside and out. Wicker basket light fixtures (painted white of course) add a nice touch and a little texture. And there’s an entire wall full of board games to occupy kids of all ages if there’s a wait.
The food is easy to eat, casual and comforting – just right to continue the casual picnic vibe.
And Picnic Beach’s eclectic menu offers something for every taste. If you want to keep eating wonderful local fried seafood or need more Southern BBQ, it’s on the menu. And if you want something a little healthier, it’s on the menu too. Beer, wine, sangria and several ‘beachy’ cocktails are also offered along with their signature smoothies and juices.
Choose from typical beach food like nachos, fried shrimp, and grilled salmon platters, or more unique menu selections like the snacks of charred cauliflower and buffalo cauliflower wings. They have vegan and gluten free selections too.
If you love bowls, then you’ll love Picnic Beach Gulf Shores. There are a few salad options and five bowls to choose from, or you can make your own. Their bowls start with brown rice or organic tri-color quinoa. And there’s an Acai Bowl too.
And there are BBQ sandwiches, Conecuh sausage, hot dogs and burgers. Burger options include a bison burger and wagyu beef burger, and there is a Beyond Meat Burger and Beyond Meat sausage dog. Or try their signature Picnic Rib Po’boy.
Open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 11am to 9pm, Picnic Beach has Open Mic nights on Thursdays. Check their Facebook page for live music info and daily specials.
