HomeBon Secour National Wildlife Refuge Kayak Tour

Another gorgeous tour offered by Wild Native Tours, this one takes you a bit further off the beaten path. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is a corner of paradise for many species of birds, located out near Fort Morgan. Visitors come to the Refuge to escape the crowds of the state parks; here, it feels like a slice of southern coastal wilderness was set aside just for your enjoyment.

Set aside more for fauna than for people, not all of the Refuge is accessible by road or foot path. The kayak tour, however, lets you explore the nooks that vehicle-bound passengers miss. In these quieter areas, you can spy unique birds such as brown pelicans, great blue herons, osprey, great egrets, cormorants, and more—dolphins, too, can make their homes here!

Even if you’re no birdbrain, the tour guides know the waters and its animals backwards and forwards. You’ll learn all about the different species and what makes the area special; by the end of the tour, you’ll have fallen in love with this corner of wilderness.
